Skateboarding and other skatepark shenanigans (cont.)

Paul Sexton, local ripper, tore the bowl up!

Ron Riccetti, one of the Cincinnati guys, here with a backside layback in the deep section of the flow bowl

Ron Riccetti gets high frontside in the clam shell

Rodney Cassell (yes, the pro one) with a grind in the over vert

Troy Birt (aka. T2) skates just as fast and smooth as his brother Tim. Here, he is caught with high-speed film burning around the flow bowl

Not to be out done, the local kid we dubbed "Alva kid" was flying around the flow bowl too
Amorone: I forgot another favorite story........everyone knows that one guy that has the excuses for why you haven't seen him skating in weeks/months/years, well there was one of those guys at the park Friday night. I overheard the following:

his friends: "Dooood, where ya been? Haven't seen ya skating around?"
that guy: "Ahhhh yeh man.....I was doing this 360 flip off a 4 stair out into a parking lot and got hit by a truck."

Now, that might be plausible until you saw him skate.....he rolled down the pump-hump-roll-in in to the flow area, went directly straight to the opposing 8ft flat wall and attempted a kickflip to fakie about 1/3 up the wall in which he really was flipping his board while bailing and making it look good......wash,rinse,repeat for the next 10+ runs.

Fearless Bobby

Brain Payne. another Cincinnati guy, essentially taught himself to ride vert and pool coping and carve that tight ass General Jackson while there for the first time !

Local ripper Mike Morrison stopped by briefly to show everyone how to really skate the General Jackson
DnB: That is my son Bobby (first pic on left above) he had a blast ! The kid is fearless and outskates me every time we skate. He is already talking about going back, but since he slept the 6 hour trip he doesn't realize how far it is. But I see a trip in the near future, so I can learn that carving bowl riding trick.
Amorone: That little man just threw his deck out there and would go for it....no hesitation. The first time I saw him , I was like "uh ooo....here's another one that will stick his board out....think about it a while.....hem-and-haw around...and then chicken out". Not your boy! He actually got a little pissed when a biker or another kid snaked him. But after that (as the shot shows), he was right in there. Put a smile on my face to see him enjoying the flow bowl and not putterin around the street course. Tell him I said thanks for coming along!

Five Points Tim shows us how to go backside in the over vert clam...

...and then follows the lesson with a high frontside as well

The Ohio guys do it right! The Five Points crew set up as tail gate gourmets.
Amorone: I do wanna say this....BIG sorry for not getting to skate much at all Saturday with everyone. I had a blast skating all night friday night which was my downfall.....bailing in the deep bowls, running back up and dragging my foot up and out (point your toes straight down and you get it) left me with a wicked pulled tendon/muscle/ligament in my ankle that was crippling (I haven't skated anything that big for tha long in a while so my ol ' "flipper" muscle ain't so strong). It was killing me just to do little puttin around slow rides. Top that off with a killer hangover and this stupid cold/flu, sinus crud (sinus infection) and I was miserable...I had no balance and knew better than to try skating all day with having to fly Monday...but I persaveered and at least hung out and drank beer all day. There will be other trips to Nashville and all the skating I want I am sure. It just pisses me off cause I really wanted to skate with Tim (5pts) and his crew....Tim has one speed...hauling-fuckin-ass...don't know what it is about Ohio guys but all of them skate that way. Also, having met Tim, he is one of the nicest, most down to earth guys in the world (as is his whole crew!!)....I will definately be spreading the word of 5pts Skateboards now for sure!!!!
