Open AM Finals

After the Masters division wrapped up, we were straight into the finals for the Open AM division. The skaters in the finals were the top finishers from the earlier jam. This is when showtime REALLY began. For the most part, it was a showdown between the Campbell brothers and the Pineiro brothers. There was some incredible skating by everyone, but by far, seeing Steven Pineiro do the first McTwist ever in that bowl (and a lot of pros have visited, tried and failed!) blew everything else away!

After the bowl contest wrapped up, there was a last minute bonus contest put together while the scores were being added up for the day. The idea was simple. Best trick on the 8-stair rail by vote of the people would win. I think the prize was $50, but it's the bragging rights that skaters wanted most. Some pretty burly tricks were put down in a very short time. About 15 skaters jockied for position and tricks, and after the 30 minute time limit, it was over.
