Savage Skates 4th Annual Pat Wachter Contest

It's official! The Pat Wachter contest is on again....and this time, back at where it all started at the skatepark in Alabaster, Alabama (my home bowl!). Pat and the crew have all kinds of big things planned this go around, and have the city's support backing them all up. For those that made the first contest with guest judge Christian Hosoi, you know this one will be big if it's gonna top the previous ones! I am excited that AOS is a part of it and look forward to seeing all the rippers from around the Southeast (and hopefully, elsewhere) tearing it up in the contest and sessions. See ya there!!!!!

BUG swatting...Login bug found/fixed! ( source AoS ) Man, where to start....first off, VERY SORRY that people had to deal with this. I had made some changes at the end of last year and then took the past 2 months off from doing anything on AOS. Little did I know that EVERYONE was having problems logging in. My emails were full of complaints! Well, I got back on the "main" site today (not the "new" AOS that I have been working hard on) and found right away the issue. The "cookie" that is set for you login info is set to expire on "Dec 31, 2009". Now, back when this was written in 2002, that probably didn't seem like a big deal. But now, in 2010, it means the cookie NEVER would work. haha So yeh...I am a dumbass. Problem solved. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Bob Biniak R.I.P. ( source AoS ) I know it's a bit old news now as Bob passed away on Feb 25th. I just wasn't sure how to respond/report it. I mean, this is BOB...a legend and loved by so many people. Seems we have lost a lot of good skaters and legends here in the last few years. I guess it hadn't really ever hit me till now, but our oldest of legends and heros that were part of the initial years of our "sport" are now getting up in age and passing on. It's the nature of things I suppose, but it's still hard to take.

Airwalk's Sin Elgeljia R.I.P. ( source AoS ) As reported 10/25 on SkatePunk.com "I am sad to write that Sin Elgeljia has passed away in Australia. Apparently his sister found him in bed and could not wake him up. Sin was a great skateboarder, a generous and funny man, and always a smiling face. He was the first team manager and a designer at Airwalk in the 1980's, he rode for Madrid for years, and was known for being "Vic" in a hilarious series of Airwalk ads featured in Poweredge Magazine. He later was a lead designer at Duffs. He is already missed."

Lookin good, Mr Magnusson! ( source AoS ) For those that have not heard or seen, H-Street is back and alive and well! (http://www.h-street.com/) I posted up their first round of decks, and things are looking good. That's a pretty nice first stab at it given so much to chose from, so much history involved and the attatchment people have to H-Street and that period of time. I am looking forward for more great things to come from T-Mag and the gang. Thanks!
